CNA103 - Introduction to 2.5D Animation using Blender (Animal Characters)
Do you want to create stylized, hand-drawn 3D illustrations and bring lively, adorable animal characters to life?
Designed to merge 2D hand-drawn art with 3D tech, this course utilizes Blender’s Grease Pencil and 3D toolsets. Students will master foundational modeling, shading, stylized 3D strokes, and looping animation pipelines to craft visually striking animal-themed short films.
Course Objectives
Designed for beginners to advanced learners passionate about 2D hand-drawn art and 3D animation, this course empowers students to independently produce stylized 2.5D animal animations, building a solid foundation for future advanced studies or portfolio development.
Key Learning Outcomes:

3D Foundations: Master basic Blender operations and modeling to establish a robust concept of 3D space.

Stylized Shading: Utilize textures and color settings to create 3D scenes with an ink-wash, hand-drawn aesthetic.

Grease Pencil: Seamlessly integrate 2D hand-drawn strokes into a 3D environment.

Looping Animation: Acquire core animation techniques to produce fluid, efficient looping animations.

Rendering & Portfolio: Master rendering output workflows to deliver a professional final project for your portfolio.
The (Animal Characters) module focuses on a different specialized track from the (Part1) and (Part2) modules. Students are welcome to take this module first, but we highly recommend continuing with other introductory chapters to master the full animation pipeline.

Get an academy certificate upon completing the
final home assignment within one month.
Advancement:

As stage two of our program, this course helps students with basic knowledge advance their skills. You will master dynamic movement, enhance storytelling through camera work and composition, and complete a personal project for your portfolio.

Master advanced Blender 2D animation techniques to enhance dynamic movement and realism. Students will learn composition, camera work, character design, and background illustration to produce their own animated short film.
